I’m using WooCommerce Services to estimate shipping cost in my store. I have set Zones, Classes and Methods.

My products have weight and size set.

But in basket, when I ask an estimation for the shipping, the cost are too expensive compared to the calculation tool on Canada Post website, by entering the same size and weight.

    What can be wrong?

    Hi duff1,

Can you confirm the service and addresses are the same?

If so, it’s possible the items are being packed into a differently sized box for the purposes of live rates. In WooCommerce Services 1.12, you can enable debug mode from WooCommerce -> Status -> WooCommerce Services -> Debug, which will indicate how the rate was arrived at.

Hope that’s helpful. Do let us know if there’s still an unexpected discrepancy, and please include the details of the package you are providing to Canada Post. Thanks!

Yes, everything was the same. I tried with an other Canada Post plugin and the rate was correct. I don’t have sized box in my setting, because I use random boxes. The rate is incorrect even with one product in the basket.

I tried to activate logs and debug but I can’t see any result.

    Hi duff1,

In my testing, the prices match the “Find a Rate” tool on https://www.canadapost.ca — I’d like to look into this further by trying to see the issue first-hand. What are the dimensions of your product? Also, are you seeing a discrepancy with a specific service, or with all of them? Can you also confirm that no price adjustment has been configured in the Canada Post shipping method settings?

As for the debug output, at this point it doesn’t show up on every page load, but you should see a description of the newly calculated rate when updating it in the cart or checkout page: e.g. changing the destination postcode or an item quantity.

    Hi @duff1,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

Hi i have the same shipping trouble with woocommerce and canada post.
Settings is set to add items in one box, i have a box with dimensions are 23cmx13cmx8cm
for 1 box shipping appers correct, but each time i add another box with same dimensions… shipping price is double. For a full box with 10x same item on canada post web site supposed to cost 25$ but with woocommerce the shipping price is 142$

    Hi @denist,

What are the dimensions of the product itself?

HI, 23cmx13cmx8cm and for anything it’s the same, i have a badge who dimensions are 5cm x 6cm and if i add more than one, shipping price i comes higher and higher. I’ve purchase the solution at 79$, better but have to specify empty box dimensions.
I never have to do it with my other online shop, just specify dimensions product and shipping was fine. But with woocommerce, wow it,s very hard.

@dentist, it sounds like you have purchased the Canada post plugin, correct? Not using the WooCommerce Services extension that includes Canada Post option? If you have purchased the plugin, feel free to open a support ticket at https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/ so we can take a look.

It’s still unclear what the product dimensions are as the height is missing in the last response and if multiple products would fit into that 23x13x8 box. For the Canada Post plugin, adding the custom boxes should provide more accurate rates.

    Thanks

Hi yukikatayama, I’m trying again and again to submit a ticket but always ask me to confirm email and I never got the email verification in mailbox or junk never received it. I’m ok with the dimensions as I enter a lot of empty box size.

I have another question, how can I translate the extension in French? I’ve made an .mo file with poet and place the file in the WooCommerce post canada folder on the server, but text stay in English in the cart.

Thanks to help fix the language

    Hi @denist,

Regarding the email verification would you be able to send a pre-sale ticket? That should not need to have you verify email, and then once you submit the ticket, we can work on getting your account verified and continue with troubleshooting with the Canada Post extension (https://www.woocommerce.com/products/canada-post-shipping-method/).

As for translating the extension, here’s some documentation on how to do so:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/translate-woocommerce-extensions/

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-localization/

    Thanks!
