Can you run two wordpress sites off one server?

We are thinking about using wordpress for our intranet at work but, we currently have two intranets. Can I setup the two sites using wordpress on the same server? If so any documentation on how to do this would be great.

Please keep in mind one intranet would use one wordpress login/manager and the other would use a separate.
