• I want to display a secondary navigation under the primary navigation on my website. Can I do that with this plugin?

I appreciate I can change the navigation for the very top of the website, the primary and the footer but I don’t want to use the one at the top of the website as it is very faint and won’t work as well I think from a usability perspective.

So I want to have the primary navigation – what we do, who we are etc as per on this page
    https://entropyconsulting.io/what-we-do/

but under that have another navigation on this page of the areas we cover so it is easier to find on our website

Thanks for any help. Let me know any more information you might need.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

The plugin can only swap the menu where your theme has the menu location defined. It can not add additional menus. If your theme has main and sub-menu registered, then it can swap the sub-menu location.

Thanks for the reply. Just to check I’m understanding this correctly.

There are three menus available (that I can see and I think you are confirming this). I’m only using two currently the footer and primary navigation.

The other one if activated appears in faint copy at the top of the page which from a usability perspective doesn’t make sense. It would have to be under the primary navigation as the pages are areas that the company offers that sit under the “what we do” page.

I think you are saying it would be possible to move the navigation with the feint copy at the top of the page to under the primary navigation which is where it needs to be as a child navigation to the “what we do section”

Have I understood that correctly and how would I do this. I know very little about WordPress, a basic WordPress agency put the site and theme together (that I don’t have access to now) and don’t have access to a developer.

Thanks for your help – much appreciated.

If your plug in can’t do this are there any others that you could recommend that might be able to.

It seems like something most sites with more than a handful of pages would need to do? So assuming there must be other options out there if it doesn’t allow it?

    Thanks for your help

Let me clarify first: so on this page: https://entropyconsulting.io/what-we-do/, you want to add an additional menu here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/xQu0wr6Z. Is that correct?

Since every theme has different menu location registrations, can you check if your theme has any menu location in that area? In order for Conditional Menus to show a menu, it needs a menu location.

If your theme doesn’t have it, you can probably do it with custom CSS. You can add a sub-level menu under “What we do” link and then use CSS to make the sub-level to display horizontal like this: https://share.getcloudapp.com/qGuDO2JG

I am happy to see that support is replying very quickly here. I hope i can get reply

Hi Themify – thanks for your reply. That is great of you. Yes that is correct that is what I want to do. OK – thanks for the solution – I don’t think the theme has that location unfortunately. I’m not a coder and don’t have the knowledge to do that so I assume I’ll need to find a wordpress developer. Are you able to suggest any resources where I could look to try to find someone who could help with that?

    Thanks again for your help

@ss198939 The Conditional Menus plugin is for swapping menus base on the page view conditions (eg. you can have menuA on pageA and menuB on pageB). If your theme has main and sub-menu location, it should work as per your description.

@alexwordpressnovice If you could create a sample page with the menu setup, will ask our developer to check and provide sample custom css.
