I have an issue with limited space on my this particular client webhosting plan as the backup keeps running out of space. 12GB available, site is 8GB. I tried to set the split archives anywhere between 500mb and 1gb in size and tt still doesn’t work.

    Hi,

Please try to modify the following plugin settings, save changes then try to run a backup again:

    1. In Advanced Settings, choose the option ‘Compress and Archive’
    2. In General Settings, uncheck the option ‘ Merge all backup files into a single package’
    3. In General Settings, calculate web-server disk space in use by WPvivid, then choose the several options available and click the Empty button.

    Kind Regards,

The database backup works now (it’s 900mb). But files backup or full backup (db & files) won’t work. Do you guys want access to take a look?

    Hi @treeflips

We are not permitted here in the forum to ask for accesses to users websites. I am sorry.

Please also try to ‘Exclude the files larger than 200 MB’ in the plugin’s advanced settings, save changes and then try to back up again.

Files larger 200 Mb are usually not website files, they are backup files created by other plugins, so you don’t need to include them every time.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi @treeflips

Sorry that we thought the issue was resolved since we hadn’t heard from you for few weeks.

Have you also tried to ‘Exclude the files larger than 200 MB’ in the plugin’s advanced settings, as suggested in my last reply.

Files larger than 200 Mb are usually not website files, they are backup files created by other plugins, so you don’t need to include them every time.

If you do have tried that and still face the issue, please try to free up server disk space as much as possible. Please note that generally, in order to successfully backup a site, the amount of free disk space on the web server needs to be twice the size of the website.

    Kind Regards,

Hi, our server space is fine. We don’t have any large files. It seems the server hangs because some directories have too many little images.

    Hi @treeflips

    Thanks for the update!

Please try to use the following plugin settings:

    Compress Files Every 100MB
Uncheck the option “Merge all backups into a single package”
Uncheck the option “Calculate the size of files before backup”
PHP script execution timeout for backup 180s
    Retrying 9 times

Then save changes and try to run a backup again.

    Kind Regards,
