The WPVivid backup plugin is causing I/O faults with my shared host when a backup is being ran. Some background about my website: My website host only allows 10MB of I/O usage. My website backups seem to all end up over 3GB when completed and my website host plan offers only 3GB of physical memory and 3 CPU(I’m not sure if the large size of my website backups vs the amount of physical memory and/or CPU my website has is contributing to the I/O faults but I just thought i should include that information).

When I disable the WPVivid Backup plugin I no longer experience excessive resource usage with my website server host. Getting more resources for my website is not an option for me right now, but I would like to continue to use this plugin for my website and want to know if there is a way to configure the WPVivid Backup settings in a way that will reduce server resource usage. ?

I have tried these configurations and it did not resolve the issue of the WPVivid Backup runs causing I/O faults:

    General settings/
    1. Uncheck the option of ‘Merge all the backup files into single package when a backup completes’
    Advanced settings/
    1.?Database access method: PDO?
    2. Compression method: PCLzip
    3. Compress files every: 80 MB
    4. Exclude the files which are larger than: 200MB
    5. PHP script execution timeout for backup: 300 seconds
    6. PHP memory limit for a backup task: 512 or 1024 MB
7.?The number of files compressed to the backup zip each time: 300
8.?Split a sql file every this size: 80 MB

    Hello,

While WPvivid can function on shared hosting, it might not perform optimally due to resource limitations. You can try adjusting settings within WPvivid to reduce its resource usage. However, for the best experience, the ideal solution would be to talk to your web host about upgrading your server resources, particularly focusing on disk I/O performance.

    Kind regards.
