• I use WP as a shopping cart solution for my store and my question is this:
Is there anyway to have WP interface with another software program, say Adobe, to be able to select a stored design file which relates to a t-shirt that has just been ordered, and then print the image from the printer?
Scenario… my customer just ordered a daffy duck t-shirt from my site. WP recognizes it’s a t-shirt with a stored art file and tells the software to print one image on the Epson for production.

Any information or direction is greatly appreciated.

  • Very interesting.

I’ve never looked into this but you would think all these new fangeld wifi printers would come equipped with an api to issue commands directly to the printer from your local network and ultimately the web.

Without buying new equipment I reckon the way would be to setup apache or IIS webserver on a machine in your office and run a script on that web server that can issue the correct comands to your printer via the command line. You could then open that machine up so that the webserver would be accessible over the net from your wordpress site. You could then setup a basic pluton on your Wp site to issue tue common back to hour office machine to print the file.

    Hope that helps!

    Erm, plugin even!
