Hi there, I use a staging plugin for my new webpage, however there are no auto updates working in that time, even security updates, which makes me worry. Would this plugin help to push those updates automatically (as on a live site with visitors)?

    thanks

It won’t help fix it, but it will help you identify if there’s a problem with the cron system on your staging site. When you access the Tools -> Cron Events screen it will check whether the cron event system is operating correctly and show you an error message with further info if it’s not.

I’ve also written lots of info here about issues with the WP-Cron system.

Hi John, thanks for the quick reply.
I guess the cron is not working for a reason (staging/development), so I guess I need to make sure that the updates run anyway, since the page is secure, unaccessable for visitors, hence no traffic to call for cron…
If your plugin would make sure the cron runs anyway, that would help a lot. from your answer (I also checked the list/link) I think its best I try that out… cant hurt. And I will report back.
    thanks!
