can wordpress custom fields have author and date?

  • I’m adding a custom field “Notes” but I’d like that it get some meta on it, like author name and date. Is this possible at all?

    Thanks for any hint.

  • A custom field is meta, for the post it is on. The post already has author and date as part of the post fields.
    You can add additional meta fields for the Notes, or store all three as an array in one field. Or make Notes a custom post type instead of a custom field.

    Ah excellent Joy, much appreciated. I’ll manually add author and date on the note itself then.
