Can We Use Filter Bar with EC Free and Pro?

    Good Day!

    We searched but couldn’t find an answer to the following questions:

    (1) Can EC’s addon, Filter Bar, be used with both EC Free and Pro?

    (2) Can EC’s addon, Filter Bar, be used with both EC Pro’s Legacy (V1) and New (V2) calendars?

    (3) If using EC Pro and adding a calendar with a shortcode, can we still use the Filter Bar addon? Will it work if we apply a filter to disable the legacy filter bar? (added automatically when using the EC Pro shortcode)

    1) Yes, Filter Bar works with both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro.

    2) Yes, it works with both the latest and legacy views.

    3) At this time, Filter Bar is not currently support in shortcodes

    Wow, that was quick. Thanks for your help!

    Concerning (3) (EC Pro only):

    (a) Any plans to allow Filter Bar to be used with calendars generated via shortcode?

    Useful Tip: This request has been around since 2017 (Oh my!)

    (b) Would it be possible to delete the legacy filter bar — and add the filter bar addon — via code snippet?

    a) yes, we have plans to add this functionality, but it’s not going to be right away because…
    b) it’s surprisingly difficult to make Filter Bar work in the context of our shortcodes. If it was as simple as a code snippet, our team would have already shipped that functionality.

    Right now, this is our #1 customer feature request for Filter Bar, so it’s definitely one we are planning to do when we get through a few other high priority issues on our other products.
