Can we use Akismet INSTEAD of Recaptcha? Recaptcha Slows entire site down

    Is it possible to remove recaptcha and configure Contact form 7 to work just as well with Akismet spam filtering? If anyone has done this are the results just as good with spam.
    I am trying to optimize my site speed and recaptcha is the slowest non-essential item on my site right now…. on every page.

    It is crazy that recaptcha runs a script on EVERY page of your website. Why be at the mercy of 3rd party dns lookup.
