Can we Upload a file and treat it as a post?

    Hi. I am very confused. Please help me with this.
    Can I treat a file as a post? I mean do i have to publish a new post, add a download button to some file?
    What I want is i just upload a file to any catagory in download monitor plugin and it should just simply publish as a post. The problem is, I have to make catagories in both posts and also in the download monitor plugin.

    I mean is, I upload a file to the download monitor plugin and it should just publish as a post with a preview image. Is it possible?

  • Not really sure what you mean. Download Monitor adds a new menu option ‘Downloads’. Here you can create and manage you downloads. Downloads are insertable in posts (and anywhere else) via the [download id=DOWNLOAD_ID] shortcode.

    Thanks alot for reply Barry for the reply. Actually, what i want is to add a file to the download and it should add as a post in the blog. When clicked, should go the the download description page and there should be a button to download the file.

    Can you please tell me whats the best use of download-monitor? Is it a good way to insert a normal post, and include a download button in the post? I mean does it work this way?

    From what I understand is that you want to add download buttons to your blog posts, this is possible. Add the download via the ‘Downloads > Add new’ option in your backend and then add the download shortcode in your regular blog post.
