Can we replace "United States of America" with the State (territory) name?

  • Is there a CSS or PHP change we can make to change “United States of America” to the actual State (territory) name for display on the widget?

    My site is for small businesses & events in the US and everyone here knows what country they’re in, but it would help to see the State name listed next to the city, since I cover multiple states within the US.

    So what you are looking for is US City name, US State

    No mention of country. Is that correct?

    Hi Apixu!

    To answer your questions…

    1) yes – instead of it displaying “Creston, United States of America”, I need it to show “Creston, Iowa” – which is the City and State, respectively. The country is implied so it is redundant to display it in my case.

    2) unfortunately my site is not live yet because I need to fine-tune some of these issues before I open it to the public. I have included a screen-shot since I cannot list the URL. I hope this helps you see what I am trying to accomplish. SCREENSHOT

    *notice, I have also removed the “+” before the temperatures via the PHP file. These are not required in the US and it helps to simplify the visual appeal of the widget, in my opinion. ??

    We have made LIVE a new version which now allows you to set location display format. Please update the plugin.

    From the settings of Apixu Weather widget you can now choose the location display format.
