Hello, I want to create a store and doing tests, I see that from the administrator panel in Settings >>> Permanent Links, we can customize the structure of our URLs.

For store products, I want to remove the word"/products/"from the URL, but it is impossible so far.

I would like the URL to be as follows:

    htpps://mystore.com/productname

The URLs that I show are fictitious created for this example, my site is not up and running yet.

    Example:

    https://lenceria.org/producto/selene-amanda-bra

    Example of my needs:

    https://lenceria.org/producto/selene-amanda-bra

But it always comes out https://mystore/productname

I’ve tried changing in the `”Product Permalinks” section >>>> Custom Base .
    I delete “product/”, but when I save, the word“product/” `appears again

Is there a way to remove this word from my URL?
Can you help me with this ?

    Hello @cruzfer!

    Thanks for reaching out!

For store products, I want to remove the word”/products/”from the URL, but it is impossible so far.

It is highly advised not to proceed with this customization. For more insight, please consult the advisory about Removing product , product-category , or shop from the URLs.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for your clarification @tamirat22 .
I have read the documentation of the link but I don’t understand it very well.
It seems that WordPress would have a harder time finding our products, but I don’t understand
Thank you very much for your clarification, this may make me change my mind about my idea

Really people like me would be lost in this “ocean” without people like you
    All the best

Thanks for getting back to us @cruzfer!

Normal pages in WordPress have URLs like htpps://mystore.com/page-name which is similar to htpps://mystore.com/productname.

So, when you are removing the word “producto” or another word that differentiates the product from other pages of the site it will confuse WordPress and your site’s performance may decline.

    Hope that helps.

I thank you for your support, @shaonback2 and @tamirat22
I’ve miscreated the question and I can’t edit it.

I want to modify the URL of the website:

1 – Now it is displayed like this:

    https://lenceria.org/producto/selene-amanda-bra

2 I want it to be displayed like this:

    https://lingerie.org/selene-amanda-bra

I think you mean that if the URL is like this (https://lenceria.org/selene-amanda-bra) , I will have problems.

I’m already giving WooCommerce a URL, I’m trying to narrow it down, it’s the URL directly from the product

I think if I don’t get any more ideas, I’ll finally forget my intentions
For example, I show you some stores that don’t have the words “Product” in their URL, and they don’t seem to have any problems.

    Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Removing /product/, /product-category/, or /shop/ from the URLs is not advisable due to the way WordPress resolves its URLs. It uses the product-category (or any other text for that matter) base of an URL to detect that it is an URL leading to a product category.

You can read more about why that would be within this documentation below.

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/removing-product-product-category-or-shop-from-the-urls/

That said you could however look at using a plugin called
Custom Permalinks for WooCommerce to edit the permalink structure.

In addition to the plugin, I referenced there are some possible alternative solutions within this Google Search you could research too.

I wish I could help more, but hopefully, this gets you going in the right direction to get the job done.

    Hello.
Thank you for your patience and your support.
I had to go on a trip and abandon my project for a few days.
It seems very good to me that the topic is marked as “Resolved”.
The information received here helped me make a decision on this.
Finally, don’t change anything in my URLs

    Thanks for your support
