Hi, we have a multi author website. Right now, when an author posts, the slug is:

    .com/post-name

To avoid duplicate titles with -2 -3 -4 etc on the end, can I change the slug to:

    .com/username/post-name

    Is this possible?

    thanks

  • Hello @beachcalsix

I’m sorry to say, but there is no option to let the users change the post slug from the frontend area.

However, please note that you don’t need to worry about the post title/slug duplication because WordPress itself handles it. In WordPress, if you made any post with the same title, then it will auto change the post slug with numbers.

    Say, for example:
    1. You already have a post with the title “Post Title”.
    2. Now, if you/user submit another post with the same title, “Post Title,” it will auto add a number with the submitted post as like WordPress default.

Watch this video to know more details.
    Regards.
