Can users subscribe without confirming email?

Hi, I was wondering if it’s possible to have users fully subscribed without them having to click a link in an email to confirm. I’ve found that people often don’t open the confirmation email and then ask me why they haven’t been subscribed even though they submitted their email.

Is it also possible to customize the confirmation email?
