    Hello,

I have UpdraftPlus set to do a database backup weekly, with the backup file emailed to me. It is set to retain 2 backups. In addition, I use cPanel to do a full backup, and always leave one copy of the .tar.gz backup file on my server. I recently discovered that the cPanel-generated .tar.gz backup file is being regularly deleted. I am the only site manager, and no one else has access to the server files. I am not deleting it. Is it possible that when UpdraftPlus deletes it’s “old” backups, it is deleting my cPanel backup too?

Thank you for any advice or ideas.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Yes, deselect “Delete local backups” option from UpdraftPlus > Settings. So, UpdraftPlus will keep the backup on both your remote storage and on your local server. If ticked UpdraftPlus will delete the local backups on the local server.

    Regards,
    Bryle

Thank you for your response. It turns out the host provider was deleting my backups.
