    Hi,

I’ve just figured out that I was getting the “Not Found” error when adding a Photonic gallery, because all my Smugmug albums were unlisted. After switching one of them to “Public”, I can now get to the next page. This is great. (Just mentioning this because I found no good answers on Google, and hopefully mentioning it here might help others in future).

My question is regarding displaying Unlisted albums. I’ve set up an API key in Smugmug and have configured the Photonic plug-in with the API key and secret, and Smugmug is showing 1 authorised user. However, Photonic Gallery still doesn’t show my Unlisted Smugmug albums.

So i thought it pertinent to actually ask you as the developer, if the plugin is capable of accessing/displaying Unlisted albums from Smugmug? Ie. what is the expected behaviour regarding Unlisted albums?

Overall I am probably OK with switching the relevant Smugmug albums to Public, since showing them on my public WordPress site makes the photos publicly accessible anyway. But I’d like to solve the mystery, and ensure that I’m not misconfiguring anything on my side ??

BTW, I did search google for answers on this before posting this question, with some pretty specific search filters, and found a post about Smugmug L0 support, which taught me how to use the API URL (e.g. https://api.smugmug.com/api/v2/user/ashdando!albums). When I use that URL on my browser that’s logged into my Smugmug account, it lists all of them.

    Thanks
    Ash

Did you also perform the step for authentication from Photonic → Authentication? If not, can you complete that step as well?

Ah, I see! I hadn’t done the Authentication part, because I didn’t realise that the Authentication screen reveals new options/controls/information after the API Key has been configured. When I first installed this plug-in, I went through all the menus just to look at what options/settings there were, and I figured there was nothing relevant on the Authentication page regarding Smugmug, because the helper text tells the user to head over to Photonic -> Settings -> Smugmug. So I never bothered to check there after I’d entered & saved the API key.

There’s nothing to suggest that the Authenticate page will reveal new fields once the user has entered their API key – can I suggest a minor tweak to the helper text on the Photonic -> Authenticate -> Smugmug section, something like “Authentication Options will not appear until you have successfully configured API Key and Secret at Photonic -> Settings -> Smugmug”.

Thanks for your quick help, stoked that this is now working ??

Sure, I can include something to this effect.
