Can this plugin upload taxonomy categories from CSV file?

Yes, you can upload Categories by selecting “Taxonomies” in the drop down when creating your import, or you can upload the categories along with your posts as described here:

Thanks for the reply. But the issue is that I don’t see any taxonomy category in the dropdown (see this screenshot https://i.imgur.com/y58zUTS.png). That’s why I’ve asked this question as from the beginning I haven’t seen any taxonomies there.

What can be the issue please?

Now I see the Taxonomy option in the dropdown. But it seems that system doesn’t recognize the structure/hierarchy of categories.

Is there any specific structure that I need to follow in CSV file, please? I did research to find out some example files with only taxonomy categories (not products) but didn’t find. I found only example files with products. Can you please provide one example?

Hey @aidadev

In a Taxonomies import, you can define the parent term in the “Other Category Options” section of the import: screenshot. You can use the parent slug, name, or ID in this field.

We don’t currently have any example files for this as the feature is pretty new (we’ll be adding documentation on it as soon as possible), but your file should contain the main category title in one column, and the parent category information in another column.

I still can’t import taxonomy categories with hierarchical content. There is any documentation on this? Also can you provide us a csv template?

I got a custom taxonomy with 3 levels hierarchical and cant make it work too, also each term has its own description, i only can make it work if every term is on first level.

What i have is:

– Tools
Description
— Manual Tools
Description
— Hammer
Description

My CSV is like this:

Category lvl1; Category lvl2; Category lvl3; Category lvl1 Description; Category lvl2 Description; Category lvl3 Description
Tools; Manual Tools; Hammer; Tools Description; Manual Tools Description; Hammer Description

any Idea on how to do it using Taxonomies Import?
