Can this plugin generate an audio snippet (preview)

Can this plugin create the snippet (preview) of an audio file, or do we have to edit the shortened version ourself and then upload it, and then just use this player to play it (like any other player).

I think some people are confused by the reference in the plugin page of using this plugin to play a preview of an audio file for sale.
