• I was wondering how people may be running this locally without a database? I basically want to test this out and determine if it is junk or not. I don’t want to spend a year trying to stick this thing together with tape and chewing gum then find out it full of all the problems listed here.

    I installed mysql locally and just get this crap:

    wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.”, “WordPress ? ‘.__(‘Already Installed’).’

    ‘.__(‘You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.’).’
    ‘);} switch($step) { case 0: case 1: // in case people are directly linking to this display_header(); ?>

E-mail addresses look like: [email protected]’)); } $wpdb->show_errors(); $result = wp_install($weblog_title, ‘admin’, $admin_email, $public); extract($result, EXTR_SKIP); ?>

    Note that password carefully! It is a random password that was generated just for you.’); ?>

    WordPress, personal publishing platform.’); ?>

    If you’re seeing that in your browser, then the server you’re running presently does not recognize/support PHP. If it did, the code would not display, but actually run.

    well maybe now you ought to try installing PHP

    Before you bitch, maybe you out to actually read up a little.
