    My hosting has asked if I cam either this be dramatically optimized and or drastically throttled down??

    well I am not sure your message, it is not complete/clear. As I understand if it is about optimization then BPS plugin is nothing performing any heavy processing at your site. Mostly work done on Google Addon we developed and only REST API calls are sent to site to update or fetch products which is normal way today with APIs.
