Can the_recent_posts() exclude categories?

  • I would like to find a way to exclude one or more categories from displaying in my sidebar’s “recent posts” – but I don’t know (and can’t find documentation for) if there are arguments for this function.

    What I’d like to do is exclude the “miniposts” category.
