    Hi,

Can the plugin work with an affiliate link (that ends with a parameter, e.g. mysite.com/?ref=22)?

    Cheers,

    John

Also, would the URL coupons be automatically disabled if the plugin is deactivated/deleted?

    Hi @jouriena,

This would depend largely on what affiliate tracking plugin you are using. They all handle the redirection and recording of the affiliate ID differently so its very hard to comment exactly.

The way URL Coupons plugin works is by grabbing the coupon name from the link, then redirecting to the cart. If the affiliate plugin can work within that (which it may) then it should be fine.

I’d definitely be testing this though as it would depend on the mix of plugins as to how and if it will work as you want.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @jouriena,

Sorry I missed your last question.

The URLs to the coupons would be disabled, the coupons would not.

    Cheers,
    Josh

    Hi Josh,

    Thank you for your reply.

The affiliate plugin I’m using is YITH Woocommerce Affiliates Premium. The plugin assigns a static/unique affiliate ID, which will be present in the URL as well (e.g. mysite.com/?ref=22 >> in this case, the affiliate ID is 22). Please let me know if this is a relevant detail on the redirection.

One more question. Providing that your plugin works with affiliate link as detailed above, would it be possible to make it so that a URL coupon applies to all the URL that ends with, for example, /?ref=22? (Regular expression, is it?). If yes, this would be very useful.

    Please let me know.

    Best regards,

    John

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the follow up.

You might need to quiz the YITH guys on this. As far as I’m aware it should work OK with our plugin but there might be some hook priorities or something that may need to change due to us both using (presumably) the template_redirect hook.

I’d also recommend testing it to make sure 100% that it’s going to work the way you want.

    Cheers,
    Josh
