You helpfully recommend that the “From” address be in the same domain as the website itself. Can it be in a sub-domain of the website address? Here’s what I mean:

    website located at:
    https://domainname.com

    contact form:
    https://domainname.com/contact/

Can the CF7 form located there use this as the “From” address?
    [email protected]

Would that be viewed as suspicious? I can set up that sub-domain to actually exist on the server, with DKIM, SPF and DMARK records.

(And if you know… can I set up ALL messages sent from the website – which would normally come from [email protected] – to come from [email protected] ? Would that be viewed as suspicious?)

I don’t think so, but ultimately that is what relaying SMTP servers decide.

    Thanks!!

Do you think that would be better than using an address in the main domain that is not a real email address?

    What about using:
    [email protected]
(where [email protected] is NOT a real address.)
