We do all our WP development on local sites (sites set up with the “Local” app on a Mac). These sites run only on our own local systems, and are not addressable from the internet. Can SureCart be used this way at all?

In fact, is SureCart really an ecommerce plugin at all, or is it really just an API connection to data that is being hosted at surcart.com?

    Hello @eceleste

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I get it, local development setups can be super convenient. But yeah, to answer your question, SureCart does need an internet connection to work its magic. It hooks up to app.surecart.com using Webhooks, so it needs to talk to our servers.

That said, SureCart is definitely an e-commerce plugin, not just an API connection. You can manage products, and handle transactions, all within the plugin.

Hope that clears things up! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

    Best,
