Can someone help me understand what this means?

    I just started using the Catch Everest Free WordPress template. They haven’t responded to me yet (two weeks ago).

    I located in the theme where the problem is coming from, but I don’t understand what it says.

    Can you translate the following into everyday English?

    * Sets up theme defaults and registers support for various WordPress features.

    * Note that this function is hooked into the after_setup_theme hook, which runs
    * before the init hook. The init hook is too late for some features, such as indicating
    * support post thumbnails.

    My problem with this theme is that the support post thumbnails is not working and I figure this is the cause, but I do not know what an “Init hook” is or how to get thew theme options back into the Appearances menu now that it is “too late” apparently.
