  • I’m working on trying to support the widest range of OSes and browsers for embedded video in a page for my plugin.

    So can you please visit this URL and let me know if all of the videos on that page work? If any don’t, please comment there or reply here and say which don’t work. If you reply here, please list your browser and OS.

    Firefox 2 beta 1, WinXP Pro SP2 with Media Player 10. Can’t remember having any other problems with embedded Media Player files, but I wouldn’t say I’m sure.

    FF 1.5.0.7 Win XPSP2 WMP 10
    In IE6 the page took over 2 minutes to load, but all worked.

    Windows XP and Firefox 1.5.0.6 (using the NoScript extension)

    YouTube – A sorta lame but somehow funny “Dodge commercial spoof”

    Google Video – A disturbing Shakira Video

    iFilm – Now Famous Florida Debate where one throws chair at other

    Quicktime – (MOV) – A funny SNL skit with Al Gore

    According to Fasterfox, the page took 88 seconds to load — and at one point, FF froze while loading the page.

    No errors for me. XP and Firefox.

    Quicktime – (MV4) – Dekepod – Technology podcast played, but only to about half, then it stopped, no loading beyond that.

    Windows Media – (WMV) – The infamous South Park Tom Cruise closet video – super long buffer time. But it worked also.

    Hmm. Deleted cache, ctrl-f5 and I still get the same errors (noted above).

    Dammit. What in the hell am I doing wrong? Mine is indentical (I think) except for the <embed> inside the <object> tag. ??

    Anyone know what I should do?

    All except for “Windows Media – (AVI) – Zelda on a ti83 Graphing Calculator” worked for me and the Deke one only loaded the first third. Mac OSX 10.4.7 | FF 1.5.0.6
