The bbPress search and the ordinary WordPress search are not the same, and there are currently no built-in support for bbPress Search.

However, it should be easy to add. Would you mind that the sidebar shows up for ordinary search results as well as bbPress search results? Or bbPress search results only?
The former should be very easy while the latter will require a bit more work.

I would like to have the sidebar only show up for the bbPress search result. How might I be able to do that?
    Thanks

Both things is possible by creating custom modules or hooking into the API of the plugin. However, as I said, option 1 is currently a lot faster to implement than option 2.

In the next version of the plugin, I hope to have the feature implemented automatically so that it is possible to select “bbPress Search Results” in the “Static” content type.

I’d love this feature too. It is misleading for forum bbPress search results to switch to the default sidebar.. Any timeframe?

No progress have been made on this, but it is noted and hopefully I can find a way to implement it in a flexible way.
