can select and text attributes used together for a product

Apologies for the confusion here, you are not the first.

This video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54blRvwU0QU explains the difference between the two types. (essentially there is very little difference and it is only for how you the Shop Admin selects the attributes when setting up the products)

All variation options on the front end are select option from dropdowns.

Unless you also wanted to use https://www.woocommerce.com/products/product-add-ons/ which has the option for custom text/radio buttons.

https://www.woocommerce.com/products/variation-swatches-and-photos/ is also an optional addition if you are looking to display images/colors as the selecting options

will allow you to create a product field where the customer can enter some text.
