My posts come out and there’s the image and the link is so small. No one is engaging with these posts but when I post the link directly to facebook and there is a whole LINK with a frame and title and it looks better, people engage. How do I get the real deal that shows more of my site name and meta description when sharing?

    This is what I want.

THIS IS WHAT I GET (What I do not want)

I would like the content to have my brand name on it. Is this possible?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Status’ image setting must = Use OpenGraph Settings:

Must also have an SEO plugin installed, activated and configured to define OpenGraph metadata. Most (i.e. Yoast, AIOSEO, Rank Math) do this automatically.

Hi. This is not resolved. I did everything you said. I checked my yoast settings to ensure open graph was enabled. I clicked Open graph onmy post settings in WP buffer. But when I did a test posting to Facebook, it still looks the same without the meta date or case for the post. Anything else I can do?

    1. Confirm that you absolutely, 100% selected “Use OpenGraph Settings” at WP to Buffer > Settings > Posts tab > Defaults > Publish. Reference screenshot below.

    2. If you’re using the Update action (that is, you are sending a status to Facebook when you click Update on an existing published WordPress Post), confirm that you absolutely, 100% selected “Use OpenGraph Settings” at WP to Buffer > Settings > Posts tab > Defaults > Update.

    3. Enable “Force Trailing Forwardslash?” at WP to Buffer > Settings. See Docs: https://www.wpzinc.com/documentation/wordpress-buffer-pro/general-settings/#force-trailing-forwardslash

    4. Observe the status in Buffer (that is, https://publish.buffer.com), confirming it matches the format per screenshot below.

For the avoidance of doubt, observe screenshot confirming this works when the above is followed.

    Thanks!

YES! I followed all instructions, including force slash and it ALMOST worked like the image you showed. Only the meta description is now showing. Here is my evidence.

Great to hear this is working. Your evidence shows a different post in Buffer vs. Facebook. You’re welcome to:

    • specify a Post Excerpt on the WordPress Post,
    • ensure your SEO Plugin uses that Post Excerpt as the meta description

    Thank you!

Thank you for taking time with me. Yes. I was so excited I didn’t take the screenshot before I posted. I have excerpts for all posts. I don’t understand why the excerpt isn’t showing on social media like your example did. I always include a post excerpt. I checked my yoast plugin to see if I could enable excerpts but I don’t see it anywhere.
