Can PayPal Checkout works without IPN notifications?

All of the PayPal plugins will require IPN to work – IPN is instant payment notification, and is the method that PayPal uses to let your site know if payment has been successful.

Each PayPal plugin has different requirements for what needs to be set up to get IPN working. It sounds like you’re using this plugin:

In that case, you don’t need to set an IPN address in PayPal’s settings – the plugin will send along the correct URL. Here’s some more information on getting started with this plugin:
