    In my menus, I’ve selected
Who can see this link? = Logged In Users
Choose which roles can see this link = Active Members, Administrator

After saving the menu and reviewing the settings, only Active Members was checked.

I’ve tried various other combinations, and no matter how many roles I select, only the first is saved.

I disabled all other plugins and the result was the same.

Is there any information you need to help debug?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @hrsms,

    Thanks for the post.

We tested it just now but we’re able to select more than one role in our menu item.

    See our test here: https://share.zight.com/KoukQg52

Could you test with a different non-block theme?

If the issue persists and you want us to take a closer look, feel free to send us a ticket at Contact – Code Atlantic.

We’ll wait for your update! ??

I’m having the same problem, but only happens with one menu element. All other elements works fine.

In the problematic element, I choose Who can see this link>Logged-in users and choose Administrator and Editor. But when saving, only Editor remains checked. If I choose only Administrator, it remains checked ok. But I add Editor, Administrator gets unchecked when saving.

    Hi @juliushg ,

I’m sorry to know that you’re also facing that issue.

I’ve replied to your support ticket, and I look forward to your feedback there.

My problem continues, but as juliushg?reported, it is not with every element. I cannot take the time at the moment (at my paying job, which the WP site is not), but I will look closer to identify what might make it different. Could it be that it is a custom link with no URL (serves as inactive top level menu item), rather than a page? Is there anything unique about your menu element, @juliushg?

@hrsms, @juliushg – By chance are either of your menus very large? Like 20+ items?

If so it might simply be the WordPress (too damn much data at once) menu saving bug.

In that case what is happening is you likely have other plugins besides ours also adding custom fields to your nav menus, with all those $extra_fields * $num_men_items it can scale past the wordpress limit of 1000 fields max quickly (i think thats the number).

In these cases there are not a lot of easy 1 click solutions, most will involve either modifying your approach to the nav menus in general, deactivating other plugins that are adding fields there if you don’t need them, or modifying core files to allow higher limits temporarily.

My menu has 6 main items, indeed the number of Submenus is this:
1 Main menu item (16 submenus)
2 Main menu item (6 submenus)
3 Main menu item (12 submenus)
4 Main menu item (2 submenus)
5 Main menu item (10 submenus)
6 Main menu item (no submenus)

Now, the problem is perceptibly happening in one submenu of (1) and one submenu of (5), I haven’t tested the others but I’m working.

I don’t think there are other plugins messing with the menus, but do you know any other plugins that allegedly add custom fields to them? Tell me what should I do.

I already sent you an email.

I’ve just found the cause, based on what you said earlier: I removed some unnecessary?submenus from the first main menu item (16 to 4). Now the item in the other menu works correctly.

Anyway, that leaves with the question… What the excess could be? I’m not sure if it was 12 or less menus. Where can I explore the limit? How much is too much? And what if I really needed those 16+ menu items? (hopefully not)

As indicated initially, I get the same result with all other plugins deactivated.

This is my menu structure. There are indeed a lot, but I’m shocked this is too many, particularly when the same behavior is seen with no other plugins active. In addition, I had no issues when adding more menu items.

    I’ll continue to test.

    I found it was inconsistent.
I deleted 9 sub items and now things are working. I guess you may consider it resolved from my end.

    Thanks.

    Hello!

I see the same problem with a lot of menu items where I need to set permissions.

    Is there any limit?
