can not rename Meta Key

    Hi.

    We can not rename Meta Key after add the form fields. When we try to rename the Meta Key and save the forms Meta Key name does not change after saving

    Can you check and update the plugin if needed.

    Hi @brkard4141,

    Right now, It is not possible to rename the Meta Key by default, because Meta Key is mapped with collected data by forms. So, If you rename it, then there is a chance of losing data.

    Hi.

    But in previous versions we were able to rename metakey.

    label names are auto populate metakey name. But we need to change metakey name after adding fields. But we cant so we add the fileds again. Or change it from database.

    If you make the plugin changed working that way, it is ok.
    But seems like it is not functional with this way.

    Same question, how do you link form field with custom field of post?
    I understand that this is done through “meta key”, but it’s not working, because whatever I insert to meta key is not saved

    I was experiencing this and thought it was a bug, but apparently I guess it’s a “feature”… with really bad UI/UX. The meta key field should be disabled if it is going to be rejected, but it’s not. At the time of this post, you can edit the meta key field, but when you save and refresh the field reverts back to the old value. This is effectively a bug.

    The work around
    Luckily it is easy to work around this…
    1 – Copy the field that you want to re-name the meta key
    2 – Edit the new *_copy field with your desired updated settings
    3 – Delete the unwanted old field
    4 – Save
