Can not log out – Log out link is problem?

    I can not log out of either the admin screen or from the home page meta box.

    When I hover the mouse over all the “Log out” I see the following:

    https://mydomain/myblog/wp-login.php?action=logout&_wpnonce=830e702f6d

    and of course when I try logging out I get the error message that the page cant be displayed and the url is the one above.

    I have repeatedly tried clearing the cookies, also tried renaming the plugin folder and none of those helped.

    It seems that somewhere (and this just started today for me) the redirect for the Log Out get messed up.

    Any suggestions how I can fix this?

    Have you tried:

    – checking through Troubleshooting WordPress 3.1 – Master List

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I did all those things and still have the same problem. It is really weird because it gives me the message that IE can not display that page.

    Use the back arrow in IE and try again. This is pretty common.

    Tried that also and all it does is take me back to the previous page and when I click logout I still get the same result.

    I have the same problem with Firefox. Though it seems if I do the back arrow and go to the home page and click log out it works but it never seems to work the first time and doesnt always work in IE but seems to so far in firefox.

    Delete all your browser cookies. Login. Try to log out.
