There is some kind of firewall that is blocking you from posting the definition updates to your server. It could be another firewall plugin or it could be that your server is configured to block this post. You should have a way to whitelist your IP address in your firewall so that you can post this update, or else you can temporarily disable you firewall to do the updates and then enable it again.

Alternatively, I have a new “Automatic Update” feature that is available for BETA testing to those users who have made the default donation. That new feature should work even if you are running other overzealous firewalls.

Please let me know if you need more help, or mark this topic resolved if you get it to work.

i whitelisted my current IP in iThemes Security, but I can not find any other firewall settings to turn off or adjust?

And you are sure your current IP for your own PC not for your server, right?

Maybe you can try disabling the iThemes Security firewall all together and then see if you still get the same message when you try the definition updates.

Can you post your .htaccess file so I can see exacly what rules might be interfering? You can email me directly if you don’t wnat to post that info publicly: eli AT gotmls DOT net

Please let me know if you are still having any issues, or mark this topic resolved if it’s working now.

I just got back to working on this. I deactivated all of the plugins on my site and STILL can not get the definitions to update. Any idea what could be causing this? It was working fine then suddenly stopped working. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling your plugin. no change.

I have just now shutdown my server for an upgrade. The definition updates will not be available for a few more minutes. Once the memory is installed and the server comes back online it should start working again for you.

Please stand by and I will let you know when it’s back online…

All plugins are off except youres and I am stil getting: unused

oh, That problem. I think that is caused by something on your hosts side that is blocking the update either because the POST is too big or something.

If you use the “Automatic Update” feature it will download the new definition updates at the beginning of the Complete Scan and you won’t get that error.

Let me know how that work for you.

    Aloha, Eli
