Can not connect to Jetpack

    We deactivated Jetpack and after we reactivated the plugin now we can not connect to Jetpack. The connection times out after 5 minutes.

    Talked with my hosting (GoDaddy) several times and everything is fine on their end.
    Deleted and reinstalled. Checked the theme. No new plugins were installed.

    Deactivated all plugins, went with the base WP theme, and still no go.
    This is fine too – XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    So more than one of us having this issue. Appears to have started with the wordpress 4.5 update. Managed hosting updated wordpress to 4.5.1 on april 28th

    Not working over here 5/1/2016:

    “Your Jetpack has a glitch. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again later, if the issue continues please contact support with this message: verify_secrets_mismatch

    Try connecting again.

    Error Details: The Jetpack server encountered the following client error: Secret mismatch”

    Having the same issue with GoDaddy.

    Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.

    Contacted GoDaddy support and they are not being any help.

    Following is the response I received from GoDaddy while requesting for support.

    The error messages you have provided do not have enough information to be able to independently troubleshoot the issue. The fact that the plug-in was previously working has no bearing on its functionality on the web hosting account now.

    For example, you would need to provide the exact and specific URLs the plug-in is failing to connect to. The fact that the plug-in can not connect to a external service is not enough information to present to our Hosting team for additional troubleshooting.

    Yep. Either get:

    OR

    @user1911 Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1. Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2. Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3. Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4. Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5. Click the “Contact Support” button to send us the debug results privately. It’s best not to post this information on public forums, as it contains private details about your site.
