Can Not change template

  • Why is it that when I wanted to use the first template I used to have for a year now it says this.
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/treasure/public_html/treasures/wp-content/themes/clean-simple-white/index.php on line 2

    I now use the wordpress default theme I wanted to change it to another theme but I cannot do it also says this:

    Failed to connect to FTP Server choinggam:21.

    Please help me…

    I have another problem. Hope you can help me.
    Why is it that I cannot log-in in my admin. I entered the same user name and password. I host my own domain.

    Why is like this? there were days that I can enter easily but other days I cannot access my admin. It says invalid user name.
