• In the last fews days, maybe a week, I have not been able to add captions to photos inserted from?flickr. Word Press is automatically updated and I show I have version. I am using blocks.

    What might be the problem?

I have Word Press version 6.7.1

Have you copy & pasted the picture / url within the post editor?

Maybe you should try to create a new picture block and use the “from url” function.

    Hi @garyartista,

Also, if the above method doesn’t help much, then possible to know whether the issue is with saving a caption or with the added caption not showing in the frontend?

If you could also share the post/page URL where you have added the photo it would be helpful too.

    Kind Regards,

I have been adding the photo using the add url function. The photo displays but where you can normally add the caption there is no response to the click. The caption field never shows up on the front end.

A published post where I attempted to add a caption and could not is at https://garyjkirkpatrick.com/november-23-the-state-of-things-in-the-valencia-area/

I hope that answers the questions

    Hi @garyartista,

I couldn’t find any HTML element in the frontend related to caption, so either it isn’t getting displayed in frontend or not saved.

Did you try to rule out whether the issue noticed isn’t due to minification? You can temporarily disable the optimization enabled and see how it behaves?

If the issue is still the same even after the above action, then would recommend you to set up a staging site and check how it behaves with a default WP Theme and with all the plugins temporarily disabled.

You can refer to this on how to setup a staging or ask your hosting provider to setup a staging site.

The above steps should help in ruling out what might be causing it.

    Regards,

    Nithin
