I can access the base site fine but any attempt to access WP-admin I get

“Hmmm…can’t reach this page. Make sure you’ve got the right web address: https://127.0.0.1”

I understand this is my local host IP. Not sure why WP-admin redirects, Is this a Defender issue?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @bjonesy7399

It doesn’t seem like a Defender issue. You can easily test that by renaming its folder from
    wp-content\plugins\defender-security
    to
    wp-content\plugins\_defender-security

Let me know if it stops happening after doing so. If issue is still there, you can carry on by renaming the remaining plugins and/or check the configuration of your local server.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

Thank you. Did not feel like a Defender issue but I had just added the IP blocking feature. Disabling the folder did not impact the log in problem so I can scrat it off the list.
    Thanks

    Hi @bjonesy7399

You can also check to make sure if this local IP is not set as WordPress Address (URL) and/or Site Address (URL) option in “Settings -> General” page. if you can’t access “wp-admin” you would find them both in “wp_options” table in the database.

I’m aware this sounds like something obvious that shouldn’t happen but it’s actually easy to miss as it’s probably the last thing one would think of ??

Also, checking .htaccess (if your host is powered by Apache webserver) might be worth giving a shot as there might be some redirect set.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Wrll this has been very interesting. On my Samsung phone w Samsung browser and my PC using Chrome the admin url returns the 127.0.0.1 error My work PC acts the same. Searching the WP forum Tonight I found a post suggesting browsers could get stuck on a bad redirect and to delete the browser cache. Dont know why 3 computer redirected to the local host 127.0.0.1 but as i deleted the cache on each I could log into the admin url.
    Appreciated everyones help.
