can no longer preview drafts

  • I used to be able to preview drafts until today. I have not changed any settings or done any upgrade.

    I now get a message: “Not Found
    Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”

    can anyone help?

  • Sounds like the post didn’t get saved into the database. Try saving before clicking preview.

    If the problem persists, come back.

    Thanks for your post Luca, but yes I saved the draft. I had no issue in the past year, it just started not to work today.

    I feel abit stuck now….

    Maybe there is a permalink problem. You could try using a different url-slug.

    Do you have the problems with other posts too? How about published posts?

    I can edit previous posts and preview them. If I edit & copy a previous post into a new draft, it won’t preview.

    I haven’t tinkered at all with permalinks, I am just using whatever wordpress’ defaults are.

    I changed the url-slug and it makes no difference.

    Does the no-preview also happen with new new posts or only with that one?

    Googling says it could be a caching issue. Try to clear cookies and cache or use private mode or use a different browser.

    I think we are getting somewhere! I installed Mozilla and now I can preview new drafts! So the Issue seems to be with IE8. I cleared the caches, cookies etc.. but it made no difference. I hesitate to upgrade to IE9 as it creates more problems with other applications.

    the preview issue is withh all new posts.

    In that case I can’t help you any further. It seems to be a browser problem.
