• I installed Better WP Security last week, implementing the first 19 of 21 recommendations in one sitting. I now cannot edit the content of my site. When I press the “Update” button to save changes to an edited page, I get a 404 error and the content remains unchanged.

In trying to figure out this issue, I disabled features on the “Hide” tab, and I set WordPress’ permalinks back to the default. That didn’t help, but I now cannot reset permalinks to the non-default setting I’d used.

Any suggestions for things to try before I uninstall the plug-in and restore my site from backup?

    Hmmmm. It’s stranger than that.

I actually installed Better WP Security on four separate sites, following the same steps on each. Three of the four sites appear to be fine.

On the problematic site, I can add new blog posts and I can edit one of my static pages, but I can’t edit another of my static pages. I eventually created a new static page, which I can edit, to replace the page I can’t.

I still can’t edit my permalinks setting.

So it appears the problems are limited to one page. Still, I could edit that page before I installed Better WP Security, but not afterwards.
