• It seems to have happened suddenly without reason after a year of no trouble.
When tying to update or add a plugin by FTP from WP it stalls the server for a minute or so and gives a WRONG PASSWORD OR NAME error. Checked it in FTP and both are correct and Firezilla works just fine. Can upload to the plugin directory. Everything else seems to work okay.
Permission for plugin directory is 755. Turned off supercache made no diff. Any ideas?
    Thanx

  • This sounds like an error with your server, not with WordPress. Can you upload the plugin via straight FTP, ignoring WordPress? That would be my first step. Failing that, you would need to try contacting your hosting company…

Thanx Tim! I did the server upgrade and a reboot to no avail. I will take your advice and do a ticket now… Thanx again
