Can NextGen do what I need?

  • Hello everyone.

    I have a gallery script that I have been using for years that is being discontinued. I have 10,000 images and 265 folders that I need to port over to something new and I came across NextGen. Please help me determine if I can recreate my gallery here: https://www.michael-myers.net/myersgallery

    As you can see I have categories, and once you click a category it lists multiple albums within other albums.

    As far as I can tell with NextGen there is no way to put an album within another album and have it display as I currently have it on my site. Is it possible to put an album within an album, and again within another album?

    @ddeg10 – You can build a very complex structure of albums within albums …

    As an example in tree format:
    Top Level Album (inserted into post)
    — sub-album
    —- sub-sub-album
    —- gallery
    —- sub-sub-album
    — sub-album
    — gallery
    — sub-album
    — sub-album
    —- sub-sub-album
    —— sub-sub-sub-album
    —- sub-sub-album
    … and so on …

    This is all created in a drag and drop interface as well where each album/sub-album/etc. ends with a gallery of images as appropriate.
