I would like to retrieve a random image from the gallery as an <img tag.
ie I would like to output ‘ height=100> or some such.

any thoughts on how to do this?
Thank in advance for your time.

    Hi @rweil55,

You can add regularly a gallery module to your page, select “Random Images” as your gallery’s source for “Are you inserting a Gallery (default), an Album, or images based on Tags?”, set “# of Images To Display” to 1 then select “Basic Thumbnails” gallery display type and press the “Insert Gallery” button.

Note that the method from above will allow you to display a different image on each page reload but you will not be able to specify from what gallery to load that image and it will just load from any of the available galleries.

Yes I understand I could add a gallery module to a page and select a random image , but I would like to do this in the header with access to a gallery that is not on this site. I would like fime control over placement, size, etc.

What I have is a number of bicycle trail sites (different organizations) and a common pool of photos that I would like to pull from. My thought would be to insert a tag

From what I know – this isn’t something possible to be achieved using the default NextGen Gallery’s available features.
