If you scroll down to “Visit Details” and click on docent-guided tour, a list of check boxes pops up on the right with the title: Which tour would you like to take: (Choose only one) *

Right now, any of them can be chosen but I’d like for them to only be able to choose one. Previously, I tried radio buttons which do allow you to check just one but on the down side you cannot uncheck a button once selected which is really frustrating if you make a mistake! You have to reload the page thus losing all your work. Therefore I switched to check boxes.

To complicate matters, there is a conditional in there too. When you click on either “Thinking through Art (6th grade and up)” or :Spanish Art in Context (Spanish classes),” two more check boxes appear, of which either or both can be selected.

It got kind of complicated putting all this together. In fact I had to uncheck “Required” from all the check boxes code or I would get an error upon submission where I had to check more items than I wanted to be able to submit.

I hope all this makes sense and would appreciate any insights and help.

    Thanks. Pam

    Hi Pam,

Thanks for using Caldera Forms, that means a lot to me and the rest of the Caldera WP team ??

I think understand what you’re asking. In both instances, you just need to set a limit on the number of checkboxes that can checked. The good news is this is a common form need, the bad news is that it is not currently a feature of the Caldera Forms UI. I apologize about the inconvenience.

It is possible to limit the number of checkboxes that are selected with some custom code. Our support is limited to helping with current product features, but I went ahead and pulled up this guide on how you could do this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19001844/how-to-limit-the-number-of-selected-checkboxes. We have a guide on where to put custom Caldera Forms code here: https://calderaforms.com/doc/adding-custom-style-caldera-forms/ And if you want to collaborate with others on learning to implement customizations, we have an active Facebook community where tinkerers and adventurers come together to try to make Caldera Forms do even cooler things: https://www.facebook.com/groups/651862761663883

I hope this is helpful, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions. I’m going to mark this ticket as resolved, but feel free to reopen it if you have further concerns. If you need faster help than what we give on www.remarpro.com support threads, I hope you’ll consider signing up for Caldera Forms Pro. One of the main benefits is 1 business day turnaround support.
