    Can it apply to blank/missing alt attributes only?
    I have already manually created alt attributes I want to keep.

    yes you can do this with override existing alt tag settings.

    Hi Abhishek,

    I’m not seeing the empty or missing alt tags being populated, even though “override existing alt tag” is set to “YES”.

    Are there troubleshooting steps I can go through?
