Can install but not see site

I have been able to install the Swedish version of 2.8.4, with no errors reported. Once this was done, I could log in and add content to my hearts delight.

But when I want to see the content I have added, there is nothing but a blank page for me to see (using Firefox 3.0.12 under openSUSE 10.3). Konqueror gives a bit more information: “An internal server error occured” (or words to that effect).

It makes no difference whether I go to the front page or use one of the permalinks, all I get is a blank page (or Konqueror’s error message).

I suspect it is not something to do with WP itself, but with the server. Is this correct, or am I wrong? In either case, is there something I can do?
