Can I view a WP site built in a subdirectory of my static HTML site?
-
Hi Folks …
I’m quite new to setting up WordPress, and haven’t done this before, so any advice would be appreciated. I’ve found some similar posts on the forum, but need to confirm I’m doing the right thing …
The client already has a static HTML site (a single splash page) which is a placeholder while main WP site is being developed. So I’ll install WP in a subdirectory of the main site, and develop and test the new site there.
However, I will obviously need to view the new site as I develop it, and also have access to the admin panel etc.
So let’s say my domain is ‘www.existingdomain.com’ and the subdirectory is ‘WPFolder’ … Can I view the WordPress site simply by visiting
https://www.existingdomain.com/WPFolder
Or is there something else I need to do to view the WP site while it is located in the subfolder?
Any help appreciated!
Cheers
Richard
