• I’d like to create a webpage with a small section for the main post. I want my client to log in to her admin page to post a new paragraph when she wants the text updated. I don’t need links, archives, comments or anything else bloglike. An example of what I’m aiming for (though this isn’t a wordpress site) is here. I want my client to be able to edit the text section under “Welcome to my website.” Is this possible with Word Press?
    Thanks,
    Pam

  • It’s defiantly possible through creating your own theme or finding an existing theme that meets your requirements. It is also possible to display a single page of text as your homepage. See “Using a Page as the Front Page” under the Codex page for pages

So to answer your question, Yes with enough will-power, what you want to be accomplished can be.
