• Just when I think I have my head wrapped around WP, a new challenge pops up. I added a post to a page but when if shows up in the sidebar widget as a new post and click on it, I get ‘Epic 404 – Article Not Found’ error.
I deleted my sidebar, which sort of diminishes from the blog component of my website.

Is there a plugin that will allow me to integrate posts sidebar to create a blog? Or should I just use WP as a blog site and build a separate website to hold all of the static pages?

  • Try jetpack, you could see if the latest posts widget is a fit.

Thanks, but nothing in Jetpack helped. I was hoping I could use the sidebar to link to my blog post but that doesn’t seem to work in the widget sidebar. In fact, that sidebar is very useless so I don’t know why it is even a feature in WP. I created a workaround by creating a separate blogger.com page and then linking to that.

Some WP themes can give you what you need specially adding a widget on the page and post.

Thanks, my theme does include this widget but, after reading a bit more, there is not a way to link posts from the sidebar if you have a static page. I was hoping WP could act both as a blog and a website but the two seem to be mutually exclusive at the moment unless you know PHP, which I don’t. In any case, I tried telling my client that WP is meant for PHP programmers and not HTMl and CSS coders. I’ll probably send her to Wix or Squarespace which have much better tools.
